Giving Thanks

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving break! Mike was done with classes by Monday at noon and we met the him for lunch at the WILK and then went bowling with the Lingenbrinks. It a perfect way to kick off the Thanksgiving holiday!

After bowling, we headed upstairs for a little Jamba Juice (and ice cream for Andrew) and ate our treat while watching a BYU dance class.
The next day we headed to Bountiful for the rest of the week. We arrived just as a big winter storm was setting in, which gave us wonderful snow to have snowball fights, sled, and build an igloo! We spent Wednesday morning in the snow as a family, then I headed in to help with baking, while Mike and boys continued to work on their igloo.
At one point during our baking, Dad C., brings a hose through the kitchen to drop off the deck to Mike so they can spray down the igloo so it will freeze over! They were really serious about this thing!
Here are some handsome guys getting ready for Thanksgiving dinner!
We had a wonderful feast and of course enjoyed the 1:1 pie to adult ratio!
Adam had knee surgery the week before Thanksgiving and this is what he was up to most of Thanksgiving break. Poor guy, you can tell he's really in a lot of pain.
Going to Mike's parent's house is such a true vacation! We feel like we're so on top of each other in our small student housing and it's so nice to be in their home and spread out. I feel like a more patient and loving parent, I enjoy my children so much more! I felt like Thanksgiving week was so fun to just play with the kids, read books, and enjoy each other. Mike and I came home so rested and rejuvenated.

We had a great Thanksgiving and hope you all did too!

What a blessing to have family so close! That igloo looks like incredible fun. What great memories. And, look at that little darling of yours...love her purple hat.
