Update

I just finished printing our blog book for 2006-2008. Whew! It's huge and it took some time, but I love having the record of our family. I've neglected our blog while working on the blog book, with Mike traveling, sick kids, and preparing for company for Thanksgiving. I don't want to neglect the blog, I love having a place to record what we're up to, what the kids say, and their adorable faces. So, here's to a renewed effort.

Andrew

A: "Mom, do you know the first building ever built?" Then with authority in his voice, he continues, "A pizza shop. They had to have food to eat first."

A: "I liked our Provo house better."
Me: "Really? Why?" In my head I'm thinking, "you're crazy!!! We had 900 square feet of wall climbing craziness, no yard, and no basement!! It's a miracle we survived!"
A: "We got to see grandma and grandpa all the time, and Aunt April, Uncle Glenn, Rebekah, Miriam, and Marcus. And, we had super steep driveway we could ride our bikes on."

To my Andrew, I guess a job, a home, a backyard, don't compare to having family nearby...and a super steep driveway.

Tanner

With big eyes and great excitement, he says, "Mom, Dad and I were talking and we think since Papa loves to hunt, we should ask him to hunt our turkey for Thanksgiving, because turkeys are super tough animals to hunt!"

Melt my heart, he called Papa and asked him to hunt our turkey for us. He's going to put it in the mail once he gets it.

Reid

Today at stake conference, Reid got my attention to show me his latest "drawing". In his mind it's hilarious, he's so proud, but the picture is undecipherable to the rest of humanity. He has this smirk on his face, a little chuckle under his breath, and I want to squeeze him up.

Amelia

Poor girl had a door fall on her, landed face/mouth first on the cement in our storage room. Broke my heart to see all the blood, the tears, cut lip, and we're hoping her tooth doesn't die. She's perpetually happy, knows she's funny and does a little skip/run that's quite adorable!

The other day she kept bringing me pistachios to crack open for her while I was making dinner. Each time she would say her own version of, "thanks, see you later." She'd wave and run/skip off.

She's also becoming a climber. Just today, she scooted a chair to the counter climbed up to open the cupboard to get a sippy cup. Yikes!!

Mike

Still the best daddy in the world. Encouraged me to get my inner root beer on and pick up a case of A&W for Thanksgiving week. Can't wait to have him home for a few days.

As I pull up to drop him off at the stake camp out, he cracks the window and yells, "Yeah troop 251!!" like any awesome scout master would do. We then heard a young man say, "Ya, he's young and he's cool." Totally MY honey, young and cool.

Me

As for me, not sure what to say. I wash upwards of 10 loads of laundry per week, still making sure everyone wears a bike helmet, eats their veggies, brushes their teeth, says their prayers, and speaks kindly.

I went to my first parent teacher conference and tried not to get sappy and proud as Andrew's teacher went on and on about how great he is.

Pics to come...

Hi Liz, I've been thinking about you and happy to read your updates. Let's schedule a time to talk on the phone - I know you have a busy Thanksgiving weekend ahead of you, but I'd love to chat soon.
