This year we had our family reunion on the Hasler side of the family in the Salt Lake area. We kicked off our reunion with a BBQ and pool party at the ever-gracious Grandma White's. The kids had a great time playing and the adults had a great time chatting!
We also hit Cowabunga Bay, a water part in Sandy. It was the perfect size park for the ages of kids! Amelia and I floated the lazy river over and over while Mike and the boys hit the big water slides. I was surprised at how much they were willing to do.
Andrew coming down/getting a wedgie!
We stayed with Josh and Whit and they were so good to pack us lunches each day and have cookies waiting for us at night! These kids had great cousin time, love it!
One night, we got babysitters and had an adult dinner out. We were sad to be missing my parents and Bil and Catie. My mom was finishing her last round of chemo and Bil just started a new job in Colorado, which means no vacation days yet. We missed having them! It was still fun to be together seated at a round table and catch up on what everyone has been up to.
Liberty Park is so cool! I've heard about it for years, but finally went for our first time. It has all these little streams that represent the different canyons that all come together at the Great Salt Lake. It was another fun day in the sun. We also had fun running into some friends from our ward in Michigan! What a small world!
Josh and Whit hosted everyone for an awesome dinner and then we had fun feeding each other ice cream in the yard.
Our last day was spent up Little Cottonwood Canyon. Everyone was sporting their Team Nana shirt in honor of our Nana and her fight with cancer. We then had a family run in her honor. It was really cute to see the nieces and nephews run for their Nana whom they love so much! Unfortunately, I was directing kids so they wouldn't get lost (that's what a big pregnant lady does) and didn't snap kids pics. Andrew had my camera and snapped pictures of the adults running.
We left straight from the canyon to Cheyenn, WY where we stayed at the Little America. I think it's my new favorite hotel! Huge rooms, crisp clean sheets, very air conditioned (extremely important to the prego lady). Maybe I was just happy to be out of the car, but I was so happy to crawl into bed that night!
Our next stop was Des Moines, IA where we stayed with sweet Ann Marie and her cute boys! It's always fun to catch up with Annie, she's one of my favorites! Unfortunately, we pulled into town with our van making a terrible sound. We ended up spending the next morning getting the van fixed, but were surprised and thankful at how quickly we were back on the road. It was a great three weeks, but it felt so good to pull into our driveway and be in our home again! The kids rediscovered their toys and the backyard. They were completely self-entertained for days after returning home, love vacation!
