Christmas in Colorado

We had a busy week before Christmas and with weather and sickness we weren't sure if we were going to make it to Colorado for Christmas. I guess it was meant to be because the day before we were supposed to leave roads were clear, Mike had the ok from his Optomotrist (he scratched his cornia quite badly and was blind most of the week), and Andrew had the ok from his doctor on his Pmneumonia. So, we headed out and were so glad we did!

Christmas morning was so fun with Andrew! I can't say he knew what was going on, but he loved the wrapping paper, toys, and excitement!

The day after Christmas we headed up for some great skiing! My parents were nice enough to watch the grandkids in the lodge so we could all go skiing.
We got pounded with another huge snow storm, but we braved the snow to get out of the house go bowling as a family! Everyone had a great time! We also spent a good amount of time at the YMCA swimming, running, and playing racquetball. My mom's birthday is January 1st and all she wanted was to go to the temple with all of her children. Josh, Rachael, and Sarah all came after Christmas and we were able to make her birthday wish come true! We had a great experience and wished all of the in-laws could have been there too.
We tried to head back New Year's Eve, but were grateful for a phonecall from our friends asking if we were really coming home. We had checked weather reports online and all seemed to be fine, but we were actually driving into a blizzard! We ended up turning around and spending New Year's Eve with my family and got up early New Year's Day to travel home. We made it home without problems and just in time for the Rose Bowl and of course the amazing OU/BSU game! We were sad to miss such a good day of football, but grateful we didn't try to make the drive sooner. There were cars and semis stranded all over the Interstate. We're glad to be home!
