12 years ago my sisters, mom and I started a tradition of an annual girls' weekend. In the last twelve years, we've had eight girls' weekends! I think it's pretty amazing that we've pulled that off. This year was no exception! We left 14 children behind, husbands took vacation days, grandparents and neighbors filled in, and we all boarded planes (childless!!) and headed to sunny Florida for four days!
In recent years, we've had some kind of project that we work on while we stay up way too late chatting. This year, we made Happy Birthday banners.
We enjoyed a lovely dinner at great Italian restaurant the first night we were in town. We ate family style and ate so much! So yummy!
The next day we went on a great lunch cruise around the key. It was beautiful and so relaxing!
One afternoon we shared some of our favorite things with each other. It was such a fun conversation! One of Sarah's favorite things is a hair mask that literally saved her hair! When I was with her last April, I told her to cut it all off and start over! Luckily, she didn't listen to me and sought help from her hair stylist. Her hair now looks amazing! She was nice enough bring her mask and let us try it out
We had a great few days together! It was relaxing, engaging, fun, full of laughter, and perfect! We talked politics, parenting, funnies, crafting, fashion, food, and anything else you can think of when you stay up until two or three in the morning! Here's to girls' weekend 2009 and many more to come!

I love that you do this! My own family has held girls weekends (ok, really it ends up being more like a week) over the last 5 years. It is SO needed, and I'm SO grateful for husbands and friends that allow us to get away for a bit!
we really need to start doing this.
That girls' weekend sounds fabulous. What a great tradition. You look beautiful, prego mama!
