Being two can be exhausting!

Andrew has been gettng up around 5:45 a.m. the last few days and I think all his early rising has finally caught up with him! Sorry for the crying baby in the background and shaky camera. I was videotaping Andrew "eating lunch" with my right hand and feeding Tanner and Reid with my left hand. As you can tell, Reid was wanting my full attention.

Creative Itch

I like to think of myself as a creative person, but it doesn't seem like I create much more than breakfast, lunch, dinner, and diaper changes right now. I saw this tree in the Pottery Barn catalog and thought it would adorable in my nursery, so...I made it! I used the fabrics from Tanner and Reid's quilts for the leaves and it looks so cute in their room!I'm currently in the middle of four other little projects. It's fun to have a creative outlet and a project to work on once the wee little ones are in bed. More projects to come!

Our Zoo at the Zoo

We recently bought a family pass to the Children's Zoo and have been making good use of it! Last week we went with our great neighbors and had a blast! Andrew is in love with Marcy, Bradly, and Annie and was so excited to go to the zoo with them.

Here's Andrew in the butterfly exhibit. You can spray your finger with nectar and catch the butterflies. He walked around with his little finger out the whole time!
The very next day, Mike was home early from work. This was a monumental event we felt we need to take advantage of, so we went back to the zoo! We were only there for the last hour, but had a great time.

Afterward, we walked across the street to a new garden that was recently put in. Andrew and I chased each other around the labyrinth and somehow landed in the middle.

Family Day

Saturday was our self-designated family day! We se the day aside as time to spend as a family with no other commitments, meetings, or engagements we had to run off to. We were up early and out the door to join 1,300 other runners in the Havelock Charity Run. Andrew was so excited when we told him we were going to a race, as he thought Lightening McQueen would be there! Luckily, he wasn't too disappointed when the shot off the gun and everyone started running. He thought it was pretty cool. I pushed Tanner and Reid and Mike pushed Andrew. We decided to leave the triple home and split the load (and Mike says we don't need six stroller! ha!)

After the race, Andrew was so excited and wanted to run just like mom and dad. He was so cute running up and down the sidewalk with Mike!Mike's last race was the KC marathon when I was pregnant with Andrew and mine was before that. It was fun to get out and run together with our family.

After the race, we went home and did yardwork, napped the boys, visited some friends and had a little down time. Then, Mike and I went out to eat to celebrate our anniversary. I love celebrating our anniversary and talking about everything we've done in seven years together and all we still want to do. It was nice to sit and talk uninterrupted by our wee little ones. A great day all around!

Happy Anniversary!

Yesterday, Mike and I recognized (but did not celebrate) our 7th wedding anniversary! For me, it was a day with no shower, sick babies (sick babies are so sad, I just feel so badly for them!), a trip to the doctor's office, and running on a second night of about three hours of sleep. I felt a bit like a zombie and I'm still not sure what I did yesterday. Mike had a long day at work and one of his employees gave her two weeks notice, which translates to a huge headache for Mike. Last night as we sat at the dinner table, each with a fussy baby on our laps, Mike said, "Happy Anniversary!" I asked him if the day had been anything like it was seven years ago! We both laughed at the thought, but honestly I love where we're at right now. Seven years of marriage has been good to us. Our relationship is better, stronger, and more real than ever. I'm excited to celebrate our seven years this weekend and just hope our boys are feeling better so we can go on our date.
