Nebraska

Last week I drove through 35 miles of corn fields to have lunch with Mike. As I drove along I realized how much I have come to love the rolling hills of corn in the Husker Nation. Don't worry dad, I'm still a mountain girl at heart, but I just have to confess that I will miss the the great plains when we leave.

Snowy Days

We've had some cold and snowy days recently. Last week I decided to take Andrew out with me while I "scooped" the snow, as they like to say it in Nebraska. He had a great time playing in the white stuff and he lasted about 45 min. Once we got inside I turned on the news and they said the temperature was zero and the windshield was below zero! What was I thinking? I guess sometimes you just have to get out of the house! Oh well, he's fine and we had a great time!

Alias Addiction

This is a confession to many of you that Mike and I have become addicted to Alias! It all started shortly after Andrew was born and we needed a good movie to rent. Disappointed with most selctions at Blockbuster, we settled on Alias, as it came highly recommended from my sister and her husband. One thing lead to the next and before we knew it, we were staying up until all hours of the night/morning watching episode after episode! I'm happy to announce (mainly so we can return to our normal lives) that tonight (after FHE) we finished the last episode of Alias! Mike has commited to only have productive evenings for the rest of his life.

ps- Alisa, you should look into watching Alias, because Alias is your name with the 's' and the 'a' reversed!

Grandpa Time!

We were thrilled when we got word that Mike's dad would be coming to town for business! We don't many visitors in our neck of the woods and were so happy to have him, even for a quick dinner and FHE. Andrew got a little grandpa time in before he went to bed and we enjoyed a nice evening chatting and eating (classic Christensen pastime!). We're excited to have more grandpa and grandma time when we move to Utah this Fall.

BYU Once More!

Yes, it's true and I'm happy to announce that Mike has been accepted to BYU's MBA program and this Fall we'll be students, once again! We LOVED our years as students in our newlywed days and we're excited to be back in Provo....and with family and mountains! We're feel great about taking this next step for Mike's career and we are confident with the opportunities BYU's MBA program has to offer us. Of course we still bleed blue and we're also very excited to SEE our Cougars play, rather than listen to them on our laptop! Watch out BYU, the Christensens are coming back (without tortillas this time- we have grown up...a little)! Go Cougs!

Spinach Artichoke Lasagna

There are many foods I make and put on Andrew's tray and wonder if it will palatable to a one year old. Yet, he continues impress us and eats everything we put in front of him! Last night's spinach artichoke lasagna was a hit with our boy, and he ate the hugest piece. Of course, a meal like that requires a bath afterward!
