Halloween Preview

This post was intended to be a preview, but we've had computer problems (which make me want to pull my hair out!) and so I'm just now getting them up. Last weekend we took some pictures of our little scarecrow and his pumpkins. Andrew was really trying hard to hold both of his brothers, but we eventually realized that the picture was much safer if Mike and I jumped in.

We started our day with a trip to Lamar's Donuts at 7 a.m. Don't you think you should have donuts on Halloween? Andrew felt like such a big boy sitting at the table eating his donut. The only thing that made the experience better was the huge fire engine that pulled up! Andrew was facinated! Later we hit the library for story time and tonight we'll endulge in a little trick-or-treating as well as trunk-or-treating at the church. We've been working with Andrew on saying, "Trick-or-treat!" We'll see how it goes.

As I was making the hat for Andrew's costume, I was thinking about his costume from last year. It's amazing to me to see how much can change in a year. Check out last year. We hope you all have a great Halloween too!!

Fall Fun

As many of you know, fall is my favorite season! There is something about the crisp air and the smell of a baked good (usually involving pumpkin) coming from the kitchen. This last Saturday we embraced the fall by making a trip to our local pumpkin patch. It was great! They had a live band, loads of activities for the kiddos, hay rides and more. We had a great time! Super daddy with Andrew and Tanner. Isn't Mike hot?!
They also had a Thomas the Train ride and Andrew was all about the train.

They had goats and sheep for the kids to pet and feed. Andrew loved it! Here we are with our three little pumpkins! We hope all of you are enjoying the fall as much as we are!

Tanner and Reid

We had a friend come over last night and she commented on how she could tell our boys apart because they are getting so big and really taking on their own individual looks. I want our good friends and family in the blogging world to also see how cute, sweet, and different our boys are. So, here are a few pictures of Tanner and Reid.

Cookie Making Time

We love an opportunity to make sugar cookies, and what better holiday than Halloween?! For FHE last night we frosted our cookies and it was Andrew's first time to join the fun, and I have to say that he loved it! He piled his cookie with sprinkles, candy corn, and chocolate chips, but for some reason he didn't want to eat it. I wouldn't want to eat it either. His cookie was cute, but kind of gross!

Getting Out

Last Wednesday Mike had stake meetings and I decided that we all needed to get out and kill some time. Since then, I've tried to get out for a walk every day and it has felt so good to get some fresh air and get moving again, even if it's slow. I realize how out of shape I am, as I have been on some sort of bedrest since May!
Here is a picture of our boys on our walk yesterday. For now, Tanner and Reid share a seat, but just wait until I pull out the triple stroller! Yup, that's right! This bad boy is huge, but a girl's got to do what a girl's got to do to get out with three kiddos under 20 months!As an informal poll-- how many strollers do you moms have? Mike was giving me a hard time about how many strollers are housed in our garage, but I swear that I need them all!

Fold Your Arms

This morning we were a little late starting General Conference, as we had a freezer fiasco that provided Mike his first shopping trip to The Home Depot on a Sunday. We are now the proud new owners of a chest freezer, which houses our quarter of a cow. We're so grateful that Mike went to the freezer to get some butter and realized that it wasn't working at all!! We have a years supply of beef in there and would have been so sad to loose it!
Anyway, Mike was getting the computer set up and I was making the bed when conference came on. We heard the last few words of the opening hymn and then the opening prayer started. I was still making the bed and Mike was still messing with the computer when I looked at Andrew and saw him reverently folding his arms. He had heard the words, "Dear Heavenly Father..." and knew just what to do. I quickly sat down and folded my arms, as did Mike. There are times when our family prayer and prayers at meal times are chaotic and the attention span of a 21 month old seems so short. We were both so touched to see that Andrew is learning what we are trying so hard to teach him.
