Just a box

My sister and her husband had finally purchased the leather chair they had looked for and dreamed of. They were so excited to have the furniture, but more excited about a new box for the kids to play with! Before they had placed the chair in her front room, they were making the box into a playhouse (or some other dream-come-true play thing). I think we're totally at that stage. I finally got my long-awaited pots and pans and while I am thrilled to have them, it was even more fun seeing my kids play with the packaging!

This picture is unrelated to my post, but I think Reid looks so cute and so big that I thought I would post it. My boys have little interest in their high chairs. They really want to be at the table with us, and it's so fun to see them at the table. In effort to not have booster seats on all my chairs, I just ordered two wood restaurant-style high chairs for them. Wish us luck!

We're So Glad When Daddy Comes Home!

This takes serious skill and Mike's totally got it! He's quite possibly the best daddy in the world, so why wouldn't any child love to jump into his arms? I sure like to.

Busy Babies

I was on the phone with my sister Rachael a while ago and she told me I should post a few action pictures of Tanner and Reid. She said she still thinks of them as babies who just lay around. Well, here's a little evidence that these two aren't chillin' in the swing or exersaucer anymore!

Yes, they put the chairs there themselves, climbed up by themselves, but thankfully they can't turn on the water yet. I actually love to put them up to the sink with a trickle of water. They'll play there forever!

I think I'm in trouble! This is a favorite past time for these little monkeys! I leave the room and within seconds they're on my kitchen table! Also not pictured, my entire nightstand emptied, the silverware drawer emptied onto the floor, all the blocks in the fireplace, bathroom drawers emptied, you get the idea.

We've got a problem!

Fellow bakers...check out these cookies! I made them for my TWD assignment last week and my problem is I've eaten too many of them! I even made a second batch and they were devoured in less than a day! If you make them, I hope you have better self-control than I did--or maybe not.

Saturday Afternoon

We've had some beautiful weather the last few days and we've loved it! I've made trips to the park with the boys a few times, but yesterday we were able to go as a family. I'm so excited for warmer days!
When we got home from the hospital after having Tanner and Reid I just wanted to go for a walk to the park. As I walked with a 5 lb. infant strapped to the front of me, I felt like these days were so far off, and now we're here! My boys walked to the park- no carrying, no stroller! they climbed up the stairs and went down the slide. We had such a great time!

Forever 29

The birthday celebrations have finally come to an end (Camie and I always like to see how long we can drag them out!) and now life must go on without anymore birthday cake or GNO. I had a great birthday. I told Mike that I really wanted PF Changs for my birthday dinner, so we made the trip to Omaha and the Meikle's were kind enough to join us (is it the picture, or are our heads that much bigger than theirs?). We had a great time and completed the evening with The Great Wall of Chocolate, a first for me! My actual birthday was dreamy! Mike was home all day long, with no church meetings at all! I took my first Sunday afternoon nap in years and didn't change a diaper all day long! Can you believe it? Mike was a gem!

Mike let Andrew pick out a gift for me in the dollar spot at Target. He was so excited about the idea and I'm now the proud new owner of a plastic cup with whales and sea horses on it.

As I was typing this blog yesterday afternoon, the mailman rang our doorbell with one last birthday gift! My sister Rachael sent me the best gift...a pair of used earrings! This may sound totally silly, but Rachael owns a pair of earrings that I have been in love with for the last two years (she's in love with them too!). We have both looked relentlessly for them in stores and online, but have come up empty handed. I called Rachael screaming and laughing and asked her where she finally found them. She replied, "They're mine, but I'm giving them to you." That's my sister Rachael. She wore them every day the week before she mailed them to me and said she got so many compliments. Her response to those compliments was, "Thanks, I'm about to give them to my sister!" She said most people looked at her so funny, like, "Really, you can't buy her a new pair of earrings?" But one lady got it and got all sappy about two sister loving the same pair of earrings. I loved these earrings before, but now I love them even more!
