Something Nice....part II

Ann Marie did a fantastic job describing our weekend and our friendship on her blog, but there are a few things I wanted to add.

You'll notice that she starts by saying how it feels so great when you've had a freind long enough that when you finally get together you talk like there hasn't been a lapse in daily interaction. Well, that's just what happened when I picked her up from the airport...until she got a phone call. Then I felt like the biggest schmuck (is that really a word) when I heard her sisters wishing her a happy birthday! It's one thing to forget a good friend's birthday when you're 1,500 miles apart, but when she's spent the whole day traveling to your house, you should remember! This is what I love about Ann Marie, she is so gracious and kind! She has seen me at my best and at my worst, yet she loves me...every part of me!

We didn't go anywhere exciting or do much of anything, yet it was refreshing to have Ann Marie and her family in our home. Thanks for the new favorite appetizer and for the double digit friendship. Can't wait to see you again in Colorado Springs!

Reid , William, and Tanner. William is three months younger, but just as big, if not bigger, than our boys!Matthew and Andrew enjoyed each other in classic two-year-old fashion. Sharing toys one minute and fighting over them the next. Overall, it was great interaction between two future BYU roommates!

Father/Uncle Ryan and Son/neighbor Campout

Mike and Andrew had a couple of visitors tag along on the Father and Son Campout this year. Our brother-in-law, Ryan, came down from Minneapolis for the weekend (where he's doing an interhsip and was serioulsy lonely while Alisa finishes teaching school in UT). Our neighbor and freind, Noah, also joined the party. All reports indicate that everyone had a great time, and these pictures are great proof!


Ryan was such a dream to have! I think it was lonely and itching to have a nice Saturday project! After returning from the campout Mike had to run a couple of errands, so Ryan mowed our lawn! Then he and Mike stained our deck together. Here they are admiring their work. It was great having you Ryan! We can't wait to have you and Alisa for July 4th!

We finally did it!

I had the hardest time doing it, but I've put Tanner and Reid in separate cribs! A shared crib is all these boys have known until now! When we lay one down, he looks for the other. No matter how much we separate them, they always find each other and snuggle up.



Why separate them, you ask? Their love to be together was getting a little much in the middle of the night. We found we were getting in a bad habit of rocking one back to sleep so he wouldn't wake the other. The other night I was up for two hours dealin with waking babies, the very next day (while the exhaustion was still fresh in my mind) I put Andrew's crib in the nursery and moved the "big boy bed" into Andrew's room. Andrew was soooo excited!

Here's everybody in their "new" beds! Now that Reid is gone, Tanner snuggles up to the bear Grandma C. made him.
I'm sure Reid was sad to leave Tanner, but he's loving his new space!
Lastly, our big boy in his big bed! He's done a great job of staying in his bed!

Oh, this is random, but many of you know how much I love spring and fresh flowers. I find such joy in seeing what trees, plants, and flowers have blossomed. I couldn't help but bring a few blossoms in the house. It truly fed my soul to put this together and look at it on my mantle!

Milk, eggs, and diapers

I spent most of my day working in the garden and loved it! So, when I went to Target at 5 p.m. (when the store is filled with people who are on their way home from work) to pick up my essentials, I had many people give me the, "how pathetic that you stay home all day and can't find a moment to shower, get dressed, or put on makeup!" kind of a look. I had to laugh just a little. An ugly trip to Target is totally worth my soon to arrive home grown veggies and the unsolicited, "I love you" that I got from Andrew when I put him to bed tonight.

I realize I haven't posted in a while. For all my worried readers, posts are on the horizon.

Mike and an ICEE

It's been a long day. It started bright and early with my wee little ones waking at 6 a.m.! Mike was playing ball which meant I had to be mom earlier than my body wanted to. Today was a classic "mother of three kids under two" kind of day. We had battles getting dressed, oatmeal spilled, bumped heads, shots for the little guys, got the oil changed, made deposits at the bank, no one napped when they were supposed to (thus no alone time for mom), and by the end of the day everyone was tired, slightly grumpy, and patience was wearing thin.

Luckily, tonight was date night! We were out the door by 8 p.m., did a little shopping and then stopped for an ICEE on the way home. It's amazing how a little quality time with my honey and an ICEE can revitalize this run down mommy who is so tired she fell asleep while getting a cavity filled- no joke!
