Siblings

Mike's parents are leaving for the next three years to be mission presidents of the Mexico, Puebla North mission, a new mission for our church. We are so excited for them to go and serve in this capacity and to have new and different experiences. Mom C. has been hard at work learning Spanish and they are quickly checking things off their to do list so they can leave for the next three years.

In March, all of Mike's siblings went to Utah as one last sibling gathering (sans children!) before his parents leave. It all started with one sister heading home, another joining, and eventually all nine were on board! A few of the spouses decided to join the party and it was a fantastic weekend!

The boys all played some ball together, but unfortunately we don't have pics, so sad! I love seeing Mike play basketball with his brothers. You can tell they've played many a games on the driveway together and they know each other's moves. So fun! They girls managed to have a great shopping trip to Tai Pan and pedicures.
This was a common scene throughout the weekend, as it was the first weekend of games for March Madness!!
And here are the girls enjoying their Cafe Rio and hoping Amy doesn't die choking on cilantro!! Ha!

Mike's family took a picture just like this years ago when their family lived in Boston, the exact order of children. We had this great idea to recreate the picture. It felt a little funny to wait for the chapel to clear out so we could fit everyone in, but I love this picture, it's awesome! Sometimes I feel like our pew is full, but we've got nothing on Mom and Dad C.!!

Other highlights from the weekend include:

Early morning walks in the hills of Bountiful
Dinner at PF Changs
Celebrating Mom C's 60th birthday early since she'll be in Mexico in August
Watching old home videos
Playing Reverse Charades, hilarious!
Great conversations
Being able to finish conversations because we weren't tending to the 29 grandchildren, except for the three babies who were privileged enough to join the party.
Sharing a special/favorite scripture
The table-o-treats on the 2nd level
Bountiful Temple

We had a lovely weekend. It was so fun just to travel with Mike, be able to talk, or sit in silence. I love being with our families, such an uplifting weekend! The kids survived the week with a great young couple from church, but we were all happy to be together again!
