Happy Labor Day!

Our Labor Day included many kinds of labor. First of all, we were happy to welcome Dad C. to the party in Nebraska. He arrived Friday evening and we put him to work Saturday morning. After breakfast we (really it was Mike and Mom and Dad C.) got to work. Mike and Dad C. had a laundry list of chores, including changing the oil in the lawn mower, sharpening the blades, mowing the lawn, weeding and trimming bushes. Mom C. was busy making all our treats for the weekend (very important chore), and then joined in the yardwork. They even washed the cars! After our work we enjoyed watching movies and playing games. At one point during the weekend, everyone got a nap or two. This particular nap wasn't very restful for grandpa, as Andrew was desperately trying to get him to play with him. He kept piling toys on top of him, but it didn't work.
Monday, we enjoyed a trip to The Ice Cream Shoppe and had a very restful and low key day. I was having contractions all day and trying to hold off labor, so we stuck around the house and enjoyed the down time (the word "enjoy" is used relatively in this case). Dad C. didn't fly out until late afternoon on Tuesday, so he willingly took on a project for us. Andrew "helped" him sand and stain an old dresser they had given us a couple of years ago. He is really great at projects like this!
Lastly, Andrew loves grandma! They have had so much fun together and have become great buddies. Tonight, we gave grandma the night off to go to a concert here in town and Andrew was so sad as he stood at the door waving goodbye. He will be heartbroken when she has to go home.
Well, we hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend like we did!

Ralph and Teresa are awesome. And, yes I would agree that the treat making is high on the prioity list of chores. I bet it is nice for Teresa to have some one on one time with Andrew. Glad it was fun.
