Parky's Farm

I took my kids to a great little farm a few weeks ago. We had fun looking at animals, especially the hugest pig we've ever seen. We ate our lunch next to this little lake and watched groups of kids fish. My boys were glued to the fishing activities and could have cared less about their lunches. Finally, I asked the farm employee what we needed to do to be able to fish there. We just needed to make a reservation for a group of at least ten kids and it only cost $1 per child. They send two grandpas to the lake with all the poles and bate and they hang out for an hour to help you fish! I was sold!

So, we gathered a few friends and my boys (especially Andrew) have been counting down the days until they could go fishing, and we finally got to go this week. I was worried when we were driving through pouring rain, but luckily, the clouds parted and we had a sunshine long enough to catch a few fish.

Eric was one of the farm employees helping us and he was so funny! He had the kids and the adults laughing with all his fishing talk and cracking jokes. He was super cute with the kids and made sure everyone got to catch a fish.

He was so excited while reeling his fish in, but as soon as it was out, he played cool dude who was calm as could be. As soon as we threw his fish back in. He came up to me with the hugest smile and said, "Mom, I caught dat biiiiig fish!"Andrew was the most excited about the fishing. After everyone was done and had moved on to other activities, Andrew was still hanging out with Eric wanting to catch more fish! He really wanted to catch a fish, cook it, and eat it! Eric was great to indulge him with a little more fishing and let him catch a small fish, then they hooked it onto the fishing line and used it to catch a large mouth bass! Andrew was thrilled!
